    One of my first experiences teaching young children in a group setting was at Musical Beginnings, a neighborhood music school in Los Angeles where I taught general music lessons to kindergartners.  As I carried out the lesson plans created by the director of the school, I was impressed with the vibrancy of the experience for the children, as they learned specific music concepts in a very hands-on and experiential way, through movement.  During that time, I also assisted an eurythmy teacher at a nearby Waldorf School as an accompanist for her classes.  I was equally amazed at the level of engagement of the students and the way musical understanding was absorbed, almost unaware, through movement.
