    Strikingly similarities between the ways children in London and South Africa compose, play, and play with musical games suggest that all children are intuitively musical within playground communities. In this article, Harrop-Allin (2017) draws attention to how the musicality at work in the playground, such as inventive compositional strategies and abilities, can “potentially alter pedagogy in constructive ways” (p. 26). Understanding that children’s musical games are situated practices socially and culturally constituted, Harrop-Allin (2017) examines ways in which educators can bring children’s musical learning from outside to inside the classroom and proposes a pedagogy for doing so.
