    Using multimedia devices to support student learning has been a long-term goal for educators (Blumenfeld, Soloway, Marx, Krajcik, Guzdial & Palincsar, 1991;Kleiman, 2000). A growing emphasis on research and practice has been placed on the development of theories and frameworks of multimedia learning (Cruse, 2007; Mayer, 2009). One of the fast-growing innovative multimedia device is the Apple iPad. Researchers from Statista, an online statistic corporation, have estimated that by 2015, 24.8 percent of the total U.S. population will have an iPad at home. ("iPad penetration in the United States," 2015). In another report by the Common Sense Media, based on a national large sample survey, researcher Rideout (2013) pointed out:
