April Workshop and Summer International Convention

Happy Spring!
I invite you to attend our Spring workshop presented by Music Therapist, Hanna Pieper on Saturday, April 28th. Her discussion and interaction with participants will be on the parallels between music and speech with special emphasis on expressive and language skills. After her presentation, we will spend some time sharing ideas of summer movement and music activities for our classrooms and studios.

Ever wonder how you could afford to have a drum for every child in your group? This workshop will involve the making of a Tubano and ideas for other drums. What fun we will have making up ensembles to use with our children.!

Basic Sensory Integration Ideas for Teachers of Young Children

Dr Jean Ayres, the founder of Sensory Integration explains sensory integration as "the organization of all the senses for use----The brain must organize all of the senses if a person is to move, learn and behave normally."
Music and movement activities help children in ways far beyond the important joy of making music!! We will explore how to use sensory and perceptual motor activities to enhance our programs with young children.
