Board Notes

From Arielle Richter, VP Social Media:
Happy March, ECMMA members! The snow is starting to melt (at least in Boston) and the birds are just beginning to chirp. I can smell spring in the air!

I am Arielle Richter, VP Social Media. I live in Braintree, MA, with my husband and my 18-month old son, Benjamin, who loves music (of course). I am often on Facebook sharing pictures of him, so I

Board Notes

From Erika Cincotta (Vice President, Membership):

It dipped below freezing last night for the third night in a row, and as much as I look forward to warmer weather, I try to remind myself to cherish the season--the snow clinging to the trees, the icy ground gleaming in the sunlight, and the ever present front range of the majestic Rocky Mountains in all its winter splendor.

Professional organization for early childhood music/movement (ECM) has existed for about 30 years, though work in the United States was already happening in the 1970s. With general agreement

Dear ECMMA Friends and Colleagues,

Since returning from convention, I’ve definitely been on the ground — or shall I say tripping on the ground — while teaching a new preschool music class at South Shore Conservatory, where I have served as Director of Early Childhood Programs for the past six years. Fresh with lots of ideas and inspiration, I dove in head first and played new music and taught new songs. I planned to tie everything up neatly with a theme of summer garden bugs, even equipped
